Heather Wilson Henderson is a Licensed Social Worker with 16 years working in various social service agencies.  She has specializations in crisis management, sexual health, anger management and group therapy. She works with children and adolescents who are struggling with issues of sexuality, anxiety, low self-esteem, behavioral problems, and social problems.
Heather utilizes multiple therapeutic approaches with her clients including cognitive behavioral therapy, play and talk therapy, and family systems therapy. She develops treatment plans that are customized to meet the needs of each individual client.Heather worked as the Education Specialist at Harvard University’s Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response for 9 years.  In this role, she provided crisis intervention services to students who were survivors of sexual assault and rape.  She also facilitated educational training and workshops about healthy relationships, sexual violence, alcohol education and community and personal safety.
Prior to her work at Harvard, Heather worked for several years in a Residential Treatment Facility for adolescents in New York City. She was a primary therapist and case manager for male adolescents dealing with psychiatric, conduct, and oppositional defiant disorders, physical, sexual and emotional abuse, drug addiction, and various social and behavioral issues.  She was responsible for clients education, family interactions, court and legal issues, hospitalizations, incarcerations, and pharmacology. Heather also has experience working in a community based rape crisis center, at an inpatient psychiatric facility, and as a social worker for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Heather received her BA in Child and Family Therapy from the University of New Hampshire and her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut.
