Megan Mountcastle is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Coach that helps her clients develop a healthful lifestyle that works for them while reducing anxiety, stress, despair and depression. Drawing from her client’s strengths, she uses humor and realism to help her clients reach their goals, increase their confidence, reduce unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and identify achievable next steps in a safe, welcoming and approachable atmosphere.

Megan has over ten years of psychotherapy and coaching experience. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings including McLean Hospital, The Edinburg Center, Advocates Community Counseling and most recently in primary care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She also has facilitated health, wellness, and nutrition groups and workshops since receiving her certificate in health coaching in 2005.

Megan earned her BA in psychology from Smith College and her Masters of Social Work from Simmons College. She has a special interest in blending psychotherapy with health and wellness coaching. Specialties include anxiety, stress management, grief/loss, coping with chronic pain and illness, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome, major life transitions and trauma.

Treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness skills training, as well as Health Coaching.
