A.C. Decker LICSW
AC has over 20 years experience counseling children and their families. He has worked for the Hingham Public Schools in two elementary schools providing classroom based prevention lessons (violence and bully prevention), social skill groups, individual counseling, crisis management and consultation to teachers and families, since 1988.
AC slants toward a whole family perspective as a clinical style and works with children, adolescents, families and adults. He integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other relevant therapies into his practice, as well as using social thinking concepts as needed.
Previously, AC worked in the Children’s Services division of the Department of Mental Health for 6 years. His clinical training was with adults in psychiatric hospitals and urban community mental health centers. He also taught Biology for four years at a private boarding school.
AC earned his Master of Social Work degree from Simmons College in 1992 and his BA in Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1985.
