Allison Horton LICSW
Allison Horton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with seven years of experience working with children and families. Her experience is comprised of multiple clinical settings including residential, emergency room, private and public schools. Allison is currently an adjunct professor and academic advisor at Simmons College School of Social Work.
For the past three years, Allison worked in the Duxbury Public Schools helping emotionally fragile children with significant anxiety and/or other difficulties that prevent them from being able to access learning in the classroom. Her clinical expertise is in the areas of anxiety, school refusal, specific phobias, behavioral difficulties and family issues.
Allison utilizes multiple therapeutic approaches with her clients including play therapy, art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy and family systems.
Allison earned her BA in Elementary Education at the University of Nebraska and her Master of Social Work at Simmons College in Boston.
