Dan Tura LMHC
Are you looking for a compassionate, respectful and confidential setting where your voice can be heard? Are you also looking for an experienced therapist who can assist you in working on areas that you are struggling with? Well, look no further! I have a wealth of experience in working with a diverse population of individuals who have a variety of mental health issues. These days there are many challenges in life, but getting help and support shouldn’t be one of them. I am an independently licensed clinician with over 20 years of combined experience working in a school, psychiatric hospital and community mental health setting. Along the way I have learned the importance of creating a safe, nonjudgmental atmosphere in which my clients can thrive. I believe that being able to trust and build a therapeutic connection is of great importance in the therapy process.
I prefer a client centered approach along with empowerment. I utilize a variety of approaches that will be tailored to each individual, these include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and both trauma and solution focused therapies. I work well with clients who are struggling with depression and anxiety. I also work with individuals who have substance use disorders and dual diagnosis. I have experience with individuals who have a history of trauma.
As a speciality, I am passionate about working with fathers to learn more effective ways to communicate with both their children and their significant others. This has enabled me to work with couples who want to learn how to communicate more effectively and resolve conflict. I can also work with couples who are no longer together to be able to co-parent for the sake of their children.
I earned my Masters of Education in Counseling from Bridgewater State University in 2002 and became a licensed mental health counselor in 2013. For the previous 14 years I was a therapist at South Bay Community Health Center where I provided both individual and couples therapy both via telehealth and in person.
